I decided to put together this list of ideas about spring and summer Fashion for Women because it is something I am very passionate about. I love clothing and design and really want to put my favorite items down on paper. Some of the items are a little upmarket, but quality usually comes with a price and these are the best of the best.
List Item #1 – Black Kimono
One of my favorite pieces of clothing is the Japanese Black Kimono. I started wearing Kimono’s a few years ago. Yes, they are a break away from the conventional Western style, being a traditional Japanese garment which might seem a little reserved and ceremonial to the tastes of a Western audience. But this is one of my secret indulgences. There are a number of hybrids available which tie in the western look with traditional Japanese style. And the results can be quite breathtaking if done correctly and you have the style to pull it off. I fell in love with this absolutely fabulous Eileen Fisher Long Kimono Cardigan. It’s collarless with an open front, has exaggerated side vents, goes down to the knees and is machine washable. It’s the perfect addition to any outfit which can casually fit over the shoulder to add an air of grace and elegance.
Kimonos are the new kid on the block and are becoming more popular as time goes on. There are certain tricks to wearing Kimono’s and they come in sorts of styles and patterns. A Kimono jacket can be paired with a romper for a chic casual look and can even double as a bathing suit cover up! However the Kimono jackets like the one listed here is not at all like the traditional Japanese Kimono, which was more reserved and ceremonial. The Western hybrid is something different entirely and can be worn with anything, as opposed to the Japanese Kimono’s which were worn on their own and was a dress in and of itself.
A Kimono is a must for this summer and is versatile enough that it can be worn year round on a variety of settings and for a number of different occasions.
List Item #2 – Sequin Jumpsuit
A jumpsuit was originally used to refer to a one garment suit used by parachuters and workers with sleeves and legs, initially designed to heat the body from the cold of high altitudes. The Sequin jumpsuit does not quite have the same purpose as a traditional jumpsuit and does things a little differently. Sequin can add a festive look to any output and is becoming more and more in vogue. It is a little ambitious to pull off but if you select the right colors you will be the jewel of the party and all eyes can be on you.
The Herve Leger Bethany Sequin Jumpsuit is a fabulous additional to any wardrobe. It comes in a sleek, stylish black color and with two belly straps and a zip up back. The material is high quality 90% rayon with 9% nylon and 1% spandex. The back zip is hidden and the fabric is ribbed mid weight. It has a large leg opening on the bottom which suits well with a pair of high quality high heels. I picked this item as number two on my list for it’s sleek style. It makes a statement the minute it walks into any room and is a must at any fancy event this Spring and Winter. Herve Leger is also an exceptional brand delivering the finest quality dresses and gowns which have a timeless element, and this jumpsuit is no exception.
List Item #3 – Santana Patchwork Contrast Color Maxi Dress
Number three on my list of delights is this wonderful multi layered and multi colored dress from Santana, the Santana Women Strapless Sleeveless Backless Elastic Ruffle Stripe Patchwork Contrast Color Maxi Dress Definitely one to make you stand out from the crowd, like a brightly colored peacock in a grey field. But definitely in a good way. This beautiful garment comes tastefully in one color type, a mix of pink, light blue and yellow.
Most definitely a summer garment not at all suited to dark winter evenings. It’s sleeveless and comes with a strapless collar. It has to be hand washed and dry cleaned. It would go well with a pair of sandals to give a beautiful, light sunny appearance on a summer’s day. This is the polar opposite of item one on “the list” which was a regal, dark, no-nonsense garment. On the other end we have this light, sunny, elegant and bright Santana Women Ruffle Stripe Patchwork Contrast Color Maxi Dress. I wear the two of these on different occasions, the first for my important events and meetings, and this when I am meeting casually in the summer months, dressing up without trying to dress up. And the Kimono is just a garment for all occasions which I never leave at home. This concludes my list of ideas about spring and summer Fashion Women, hope you enjoyed the list.
